Drone Lifting

Drone lifting a log over a grassy hill.

Move equipment and supplies where ground access is difficult

When steep terrain, soft ground, waterways or limited vehicle access make a job slow or risky, drone lifting can provide a faster and more practical way to move smaller loads.

OC Aerial provides heavy-lift drone services for agriculture, construction, infrastructure, conservation and remote-site operations. Using our XAG P150 Max lifting platform, we can carry suspended loads of up to 80 kg and place them where they are needed without requiring a vehicle or person to travel over difficult ground.

Up to 80 kg lifting capacity

Our heavy-lift drone can transport a wide range of suitable equipment, materials and supplies, including:

  • Fencing equipment, tools and materials
  • Parts and equipment for remote infrastructure
  • Seed, fertiliser and other farm supplies
  • Traps, monitoring equipment and conservation materials
  • Ropes, cables and lightweight construction components
  • Food, water and supplies for remote worksites
  • Custom payloads designed for a specific project

Every load and site is different. The usable payload will depend on the load’s dimensions, shape and rigging, as well as the flight distance, terrain, elevation and weather conditions. We assess these factors before confirming that a lift can be completed safely.

Where drone lifting makes sense

Heavy-lift drones are particularly useful when:

  • The pickup or delivery point is on steep, rough or unstable terrain
  • Vehicles would damage crops, pasture, tracks or sensitive ground
  • Staff would otherwise need to carry equipment over a long distance
  • A crane or helicopter would be excessive for the size of the load
  • Equipment needs to be placed accurately at a specific location
  • Multiple smaller loads need to be moved along a repeatable route

Drone lifting will not replace a helicopter or crane on every job, but for suitable loads and shorter transport routes it can offer a flexible option with less setup and minimal disturbance to the ground below.

Talk to us about your lifting job

Have a load that needs to reach a difficult location? Send us:

  • The site location
  • A description and approximate weight of the load
  • The pickup and delivery points
  • The approximate distance between them
  • Any photos, maps or access information
  • Your preferred timing

We will review the job, confirm whether drone lifting is suitable and provide a project-specific quote.
